Our website shares information about Mastrinka, a small settlement on Čiovo Island's northern side. Mastrinka consists of three parts. The central part is where Mastrinka itself is situated, on its western side, towards Trogir one can find Miševac with its cottages and apartment buildings, then east from the centre the quarter around Sv. Križ (Holy Cross) Monastery is settled. The Sv. Križ Monastery is on the border between Mastrinka and
Arbanija. As with other settlements on Čiovo, Mastrinka is accessible through the bridge in Trogir - the bridge is about 2-3 km-s away from Mastrinka.

The whole coastline of Mastrinka can be used for swimming and relaxing and there are two beaches that are well developed and mostly frequented: the first one is in Miševac and the other one is at the monastery, both are typical Dalmatian gravel beaches. The beaches elsewhere in Mastrinka are rocky and partly covered with concrete on terraces.
There is one hotel in Mastrinka (Hotel Sv. Križ with swimming pool and sport field), the majority of the Mastrinka guests, though, find accommodation in any of the many family-run apartment buildings. Basic food and drinks items are available in the local grocery store and also, there is a small restaurant serving the hungry and thirsty in Villa Mare.

The outstanding sight of Mastrinka is the former Dominican Sv. Križ (Holy Cross) Monastery. The monastery, founded in 1432, with renaissance details preserved, was abandoned in 1852, the cemetery on its eastern side is still in use, though. Visiting of the monastery is possible with arrangement. The other historic monument in Mastrinka is the St. Jerome's Church (Crkva Sv. Jere) in the Miševac part of the settlement.
There are a couple of facts that should be mentioned to those planning a holiday in Mastrinka. Firstly, Split Airport is located on the coast facing Čiovo's northern side, it's only 2 km-s from Mastrinka - the noise of landing airplanes can be a nuisance. The other thing is that the road leading to
Arbanija and Slatine goes through Mastrinka and Mastrinka doesn't have a sidewalk. Then, in 2008, the water quality was not as excellent as in 2007 - the 2009 values are yet to be available.
